After conditioning, spray lightening spray thoroughly on towel-dried hair, then style as desired. For optimal lightening, use a flat iron or curling iron after blow-drying. Only use once between hair washings. Use only on clean, wet hair. Use no more than 10 times between colourings.

How long should I wait between using the Lightening Spray and color-treating my hair afterward?

When used as directed and not used no more than 10 times on the same portion of hair, it is recommended to wait at least 2 weeks after the last use of Lightening Spray before color treatment. Always be sure to inform your stylist of prior usage so that they can properly manage the color treatment of your hair. Not doing so can result in unwanted/additional breakage.

Can I color-treat or highlight my hair after using the Go Blonder Spray?

Yes, consult with your stylist to ensure they are aware of the products and processes used. Time should be monitored so that hair doesn’t overprocess.

Will the Lightening Spray work if I don’t use it with heat styling products?

This product was designed to be used with heat; therefore, you will not see the same degree of lightening effects if you simply apply it and let your hair air-dry. The more heat used, the more lightening achieved when using this product.

How is the Lightening Spray different from other hair lightening products?

The Go Blonder Lightening Spray contains patent-pending technology to help improve the retention of hydrogen peroxide on the hair and aid with styling. It was specifically designed to be used with heat appliances as part of a normal styling routine. It is also tinted purple/violet to help maintain true-to-tone blonde results.

Does the Lightening Spray cover grey hair?

This product was not designed to cover grey hair. Grey hair does not contain any color pigments, and since this product removes color pigments to lighten the hair, the technology would not be effective at covering grey. However, if you are not completely grey, it is possible that your grey hairs may appear less noticeable as your surrounding blonde hair gets lighter from using the product.

Can I apply this Lightening Spray to dry hair?

No, the product should not be applied to damp hair. What would happen? Hair could soak up too much product and cause damage. The results could be uneven or patchy, as the product would not be evenly distributed throughout the hair.

Does Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray keep lightening as you use it?

Yes, you can expect your hair to go as much as 2 shades lighter with continued use. However, avoid more than 10 uses between color treatments. The results are gradual, though, so you have control over how light you want your hair to be.

I like the lightening of my hair, but not the tone – it is too reddish/orange/brassy for me. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

This product was designed to create a natural-looking blonde. If you are dissatisfied with the tone, please try the Violet Crush Shampoo and Conditioner for a few uses to neutralize the brassiness.
